Hopes are rising for a post-Brexit trade deal after German chancellor Angela Merkel intervened to urge both the UK and EU to negotiate a deal. The chancellor’s intervention comes at the end of a fractious week for Brexit negotiations.
German ambassador hits out at claims vaccine approval is win for Britain
Germany’s ambassador to the UK has criticised the British government for claiming that the approval of the Pfizer/BioNTec vaccine was a ‘national’ win for Britain and underlined the ‘European and transatlantic’ work that had gone into its development. On 2nd December, the UK became the first country to approve the vaccine.
