Weekly update: Germany falls short of UK 'green list', Foreign Minister attends UK G7 summit


From Sunday 9 May, certain COVID-19 restrictions in Germany will be eased for people who have full vaccination cover or have recovered from a confirmed coronavirus infection. However, note that Germany is not on the UK’s ‘green list’, meaning that quarantine and testing restrictions still apply to travellers arriving in the UK from Germany.

Germany’s foreign minister is in the UK for the G7 summit this week. Meanwhile, the German and British foreign ministries are among those that have released a joint statement condemning Israel’s policy of settlement expansion across the Occupied Palestinian Territories.


German broadcaster ZDF has released a ten-part English-language series on the rise and fall of Nazism in Germany, covering the period 1918 to 1948. All episodes are available to watch here.
