Weekly update: Finance Minister sued, metro in Graz to be constructed by 2030

Opposition parties have sued Finance Minister Gernot Blümel (ÖVP), accusing him of perjury during investigations into alleged party donations from the Novomatic AG company. He risks up to three years in prison.

The government has agreed on a reform of insolvency law. The debt repayment period will be lowered from 5 to 3 years.


Graz could get its own metro by 2030. The City Council has presented plans for the construction of two underground lines that will improve public mobility in the second biggest city in Austria.
