Bundesliga

Dortmund extended their lead at the top to nine points with a 2-1 victory over Werder Bremen at the Westfalenstadion on Matchday 15 of the Bundesliga season. It was a familiar tale for Die Grün-Weißen, with BVB’s Marco Reus once again proving their nemesis in a game where Paco Alcacer also continued his outstanding scoring run. Elsewhere, it took Bayern took just 62 seconds to breach struggling Hannover’s defences as they romped to a 4-0 away win. That brings them level on points with second-placed Mönchengladbach who played out an entertaining 0-0 draw at Hoffenheim.

In Europa

Following the midweek fixtures in the Champions League and Europa League, one of which featured Bayern Munich’s scintillating 6-goal thriller against Ajax, 4 German teams have finished as group winners of the Champions League or the Europa League for the first time in 6 years.

In England

Elsewhere, Leroy Sane has had a sensational return to form for Manchester City following his exclusion from Germany’s World Cup squad in summer. He bagged two assists in Man City’s 3-1 win over Everton on Saturday.
