Brexit drama rumbles on

On the 29th March the UK was due to leave the European Union. This hasn’t quite happened… yet. Get an overview of what the amused/bemused German press had to say about it here.

Europe Actually

The Goethe Institute London is putting on a series of events, which showcases of music and poetry, as part of the Europe Actually project. The aim is to focus attention on what unites us at times of uncertainty, in this case, our shared European identity.

(Not Fritz Lang's) Metropolis

Metropolis is the latest and the last instalment of the Bernie Gunther crime series. The late Philip Kerr published the first novel staring the German spy in 1989 and 30 years on he doesn’t fail to captivate once more. You can read a review in The Spectator.

100 Years of Bauhaus

BBC Radio 4’s ‘Book of the week’ features Eleanor Bron reading Fiona McCarthy’s biography of the visionary founder of the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius. It’s well worth a listen.
