Weekly update: Germany falls short of UK 'green list', Foreign Minister attends UK G7 summit

From Sunday 9 May, certain COVID-19 restrictions in Germany will be eased for people who have full vaccination cover or have recovered from a confirmed coronavirus infection. However, note that Germany is not on the UK’s ‘green list’, meaning that quarantine and testing restrictions still apply to travellers arriving in the UK from Germany.

Multilateralism

Germany’s foreign minister is in the UK for the G7 summit this week. Meanwhile, the German and British foreign ministries are among those that have released a joint statement condemning Israel’s policy of settlement expansion across the Occupied Palestinian Territories.

Fellowship

UCL and the GHIL are advertising for a six-month postdoctoral research fellowship for an early-career scholar from a German university to pursue independent research in the stimulating intellectual environment of the two host institutions. Application deadline 24th May 2021.
